Architecture is the fusion of art and building science. The art is how design affects our emotions…does it move us? How does a building make us feel as we approach it, as we enter it, as we experience it and as we leave it? It is the quality of light inside, the sculptural forms, the arrangement of spaces, the scale and proportion, balance and asymetry, colors, textures and materials.
Building science is the structure, the systems, the technology, the energy efficiency, sustainability and its resiliency. OUR PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of Tokarski Millemann Architects is to inspire people. We do this by receiving inspiration and pouring that into our designs to deliver buildings and spaces that inspire people to interact and appreciate their surroundings. Design is at the center of everything we do. Design has the power to change people, neighborhoods, towns, cities and nations. Good design elevates the human spirit. Extraordinary or extra ordinary? Extraordinary is the level of service we provide to each and every client and every project. Extra ordinary is what we create….the unexpected, the remarkable, the surprise, the wow factor.
Our specialties are commercial and modern residential architecture. The diversity of project types allows us to pull from our vast experience and knowledge base to handle any project. We share weekly what lessons were learned from each project so that it can enrich the next one. The majority of our firm’s work encompasses the following building typologies: k-12 schools both public and private, colleges and universities, churches, automotive dealerships, retail, industrial, multi-family residential, offices, municipal and restaurants. We also love ultra modern residential projects. Richard P. Tokarski AIA, LEED AP
Architect / Principal
Richard Tokarski is the founding Principal of Tokarski Millemann Architects, LLC. He went into private practice in 1999 after working for two of New Jersey’s largest school design firms. While his early career touted extensive work on K-12 educational facilities, his current experience includes religious facilities, restaurants, and commercial ventures and high-end custom modern residential homes.

Architect / Principal
Michael Millemann is one of the founding Principals of Tokarski Millemann Architects. Mike initially joined the firm in 2005 after working for a decade with one of the premier k-12 school design firms in the northeast, and in 2007 decided to take the next step in his professional career and unite with Rick to form their partnership. As Principal, Mike finds himself working on a variety of projects that include institutional, educational, retail and other building types.
