548 Ocean Avenue
Tokarski Millemann Architects was charged with creating a modern elevated ranch to compliment the adjacent modern home without impeding the spectacular ocean view. We started with a story pole to determine the maximum height of the new roof and worked backwards. The single low slope roof lifts and opens the interior ceiling heights to face the ocean. The eastern facade of the house showcases two tiers of decks connected by a spiral stair. The exterior is clad with Maibec cedar siding combination of horizontal boards and perfection shingles in contrasting colors to create a discontinuous band that gives the house a unique aesthetic and visual interest.
